First submission of 2014!

Today we got an email from Bruce Bergh with a link to his Bandcamp page with his album of original Christmas music in a casual, cool style.

The email came with an explanation that the songs were featured in two holiday movies last year, and that makes sense, it feels like it would fit right in in a cheery, upbeat Lifetime movie, something that needed some light, energetic Christmas spirit. I think it would fit right in at a smooth, jazzy Christmas dinner party or a piano bar.

I liked that it was original tunes too. I’ve heard a lot of original tunes in my time, and a lot of times, ‘original’ is code for ‘in-progress’ songs, like they just started writing, but you can tell Bruce has been at this a while. Unlike much other original stuff on bandcamp that still needs of some work, these are polished and smart. I don’t know much about Bruce’s work, but I was impressed. He knows his way around a song. I think I need to do a little more research, see what else he’s done.

Check out Bruce’s album on his bandcamp page, where you can try before you buy. It’s a fun album; it’ll put a spring in your step and a bounce in your walk, and if it’s your particular cup o’ tea, consider downloading to keep that holiday feeling a little longer.
